In 2000, a consortium was formed sponsored by Spectrum Health, Saint Mary's Mercy Medical Center, Michigan State University, and Grand Valley State University. The Grand Rapids Medical Education and Research Center for Health Professions (MERC) will be coordinating all of the education and research programs for residents, PA's and nurse practitioners in the Grand Rapids community. This collaboration will offer numerous opportunities in medical education.
