The Association of Postgraduate Physician Assistant Programs (APPAP) will conduct a business meeting and two discussion forums at the 36th Annual Meeting of the American Academy of Physician Assistants being held in San Antonio, Texas from May 24-29, 2008:

Monday, May 26th in the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center
1. Association of Postgraduate PA Programs (APPAP) Business Meeting
Monday, May 26, 8:00-10:00 a.m. Convention Center, Room 213B:
Introduction of new program members, review of Association business and finances, election of new officers, installation of new officers. Open to all. Continental breakfast will be served.
2. SAAAPA Postgraduate Education Forum: Hosted by APPAP
Monday, May 26, 1:00-1:50 p.m. Convention Center, Room 209:
A discussion forum specifically for students will be hosted by APPAP during the SAAAPA Workshops. This session is primarily for students interested in learning more about postgraduate education options, but will be open to all. Postgraduate program representatives will provide brief overviews of their programs and be available to answer related questions or to discuss postgraduate training in general. Refreshments will be served.
3. Postgraduate Education Roundtable: Sponsored by APPAP
Monday, May 26, 3:00-4:00 p.m. Convention Center, Room 213B:
This session is open to all interested in postgraduate PA education for any reason, whether to advise students or to learn about the various offerings available. Representatives from APPAP who are affiliated with different postgraduate programs throughout the country will be present to answer questions and discuss various considerations for advising students regarding postgraduate training as a possible choice following PA school. An update regarding ARC-PA accreditation of postgraduate programs will also be presented.
4. Postgraduate Program Accreditation Q&A: Sponsored by APPAP & ARC-PA
Monday, May 26, 4:15-5:30 p.m. Convention Center, Room 213B:
Laura Steutzer of ARC-PA will be available to provide updates and answer questions regarding the accreditation process for postgraduate PA programs. Open to all.
